How To Crush Ice (The Easy Way!)

You’ve probably seen this video, but if you haven’t, give it a watch. It’s a quick and easy way to crush ice made with anything other than your hands. A lot of effortless fun can be had in the bathtub or poolside as well!

To make your own, you’ll need:

-a bucket with ice (for crushing)

-ice cubes (for crushing)

-Crisco/shortening/vegetable oil (for coating the ice in a thin layer of fat – this will ensure that the ice doesn’t get too hard before it melts.)

So here’s how to do it…

First, brush or spray a thin layer of oil onto the surface of the crushed ice.  Next, put on your sweats and make a trail of crushed up cubes.  If you’re at home, you can skip the step of putting on a sweatsuit and just use your shirt or something to wipe off most of the oil (you don’t want to get oil on the floor or on yourself!).

By now, you’re probably all sweaty again and ready to sit, but it’s worth it.  Next, pour some crushed ice over your hands, one at a time.  You’ll have to keep putting ice cubes in once the first one is melted, because if you do it before the ice cubes have all melted then some will be sitting underneath.  If this happens, just scrape it up with a spoon or whatever is handy and add more crushed ice until thawed out all the way through again.

And from there, you can do as many as you want.  When the ice melts, it’ll slide down your body and give you a nice little massage at the same time (but don’t forget to keep an eye on the temperature). The best part about this method is that it’s non-messy, doesn’t involve any special tools and will never freeze the water in the tub for you.

Most people think that getting ice crushed is an arduous task during the summer months, but they’re not prepared for what they actually need to do to trap this cold stuff inside their cooler. But with a little practice you’ll be crushing ice like a pro in no time!

You see, to crush ice you need the proper equipment. You can’t expect to put a block of ice inside your blender and push a button, right? You’ll end up with wet chunks of ice and drinks that are watered down. Well, there’s an easy solution!

Well, actually there are three solutions:

First of all, you can always use your hands or some solid tool to smash the ice into smaller pieces. This is tedious and time-consuming work though (unless you have a lot of free time on your hands), so most people choose to use their blender instead.

Second of all, you can try using one of those specialized contraptions designed for crushing ice . Some of these cost a pretty penny and don’t really get the job done as well as you would like.

Third, you can opt for a more manual, yet more effective method of crushing ice: use your Sledgehammer! Let’s see how this miracle tool makes it easier to crush ice.

First of all, you’ll notice that the Sledgehammer has a round part just above the handle. This is perfect for putting ice in it!

So if you do want to try putting ice in your sledgehammer and then pounding said sledgehammer on the floor or another hard surface, make sure that :

1) You don’t decide to pound nails into your ceiling.

2) You set the SledgeHammer up on some sort of block or concrete platform (like a chair) so that it doesn’t go through the floor.

Of course, you can opt for a cheaper alternative and put your ice into a Ziploc bag, then close the bag and toss it up and down against your kitchen counter.

This is actually a much easier method of crushing ice rather than just doing it by hand. Plus you don’t have to wear yourself out trying to get the job done; just let gravity do most of the work for you!

If you’re going to use this method, it’s important to have lots of bags on hand. That way you can always set up your sledgehammer on the counter and just go at it whenever you want.

I’m not going to tell you how to do it right, because honestly this is all about practice.

So what about the final step? How in the world are you going to clean that sledgehammer after you’ve been using it?

There’s a very easy solution for this as well. First off, make sure that there aren’t any parts of your SledgeHammer that have dried out or gotten rusty from freezing and thawing out. Next, you’ll want to make sure that you’ve removed all the ice stuck inside your SledgeHammer.

It’s a good idea to dry out your SledgeHammer by placing it on a warm surface for about 30 minutes. Then make sure that it’s clean and dry before storing for the next time you need to use it. It will be easy to store if you keep it on its end and make sure that there isn’t any water left inside.

A great way to keep your SledgeHammer cleaned out is to make sure that you’re washing it out with soap every time after it gets used. Just be sure that you give it a thorough cleaning before leaving it out to dry.

I’ve found that wrapping your SledgeHammer in a plastic bag and putting it in the freezer (or even outside if the weather is nice) for about 30 minutes will get all of the ice out of it. Then simply take it out and give it a good wipe down.

After you’ve removed all of the ice, it’s as simple as washing it with soap (I use dishwashing liquid) and then wiping it down with a dry towel to get rid of any remaining water. If you notice that there’s still ice inside the Hammer, try repeating this process again.

One final word: before you go beating your SledgeHammer against another hard surface, make sure that no parts of your SledgeHammer are already rusted or in pieces! Do this one more time before leaving your sledgehammer on the floor!

That’s all there is to crushing ice with a sledgehammer. You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy contraption that does all the work for you.

You also don’t need to waste your time getting worn out, trying to smash ice by hand.

With just a little bit of common sense and patience, you can crush ice like a pro (and not have to grow old doing it).

How do you make smooth blended ice?

Try putting ice into the blender in even small chunks. For example, place the ice into the blender and turn it on for 3-4 seconds. If you don’t hear any sound of the motor, try turning it on again for another 2-3 more seconds (or push down on the ice to let it go back into the blades). It should blend smoothly afterwards.

Blended Ice Tip #2: To remove large ice chunks (like broken up cubes) from your Blender, seal the Blender lid tight and run it under hot water for about 30 seconds. Try blending the Ice in this Blended Ice Maker immediately afterwards.

Blended Ice Tip #3: Sometimes, the Blender doesn’t blend ice because there’s no liquid to blend with. Have a little bit of water (or another liquid) nearby and when you’re done blending ice, just pour the mixture into the blender. Use the remaining liquid to blend with your ice!

How do you make smooth blended ice?

The best way to get smooth blended ice is to use a Blender that has its own Blended Ice Maker attachment. Many people use a “Dremel” attachment to turn the Blender into a Blender with Ice Maker. You can also buy an Ice Blender attachment for your electric or hand blender from stores such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and other stores.

Why does my blender not blend ice?

If your blender is having trouble blending ice, there are a few simple things you can do to fix the problem. First of all, make sure that your ice is as dry as possible. If it’s wet or even slightly damp, the blender will have a lot of trouble getting rid of it. If your ice has gotten wet, try drying it out and then putting it back into the blender.

Next tip: make sure that you’re putting a lot of liquid into the blender with the ice cubes and not just a little bit here and there. Too little liquid and the blender may have trouble getting rid of your ice.

Lastly, make sure that you’re not putting “large” ice cubes into the blender. If your blender has a hard time blending the ice and is having trouble, try chopping the ice up more. Then try to blend it again by adding a little more liquid to it.

If your Blender is still having problems crushing all of your ice, then it may need to be replaced. If that’s what you’re going to do, make sure you read some reviews on different Blenders before you buy one!

How do you blend ice without melting it?

If you want to blend ice and not melt it, try placing a tablespoon of vegetable oil on top of your ice before you put the lid on. Then turn your Blender onto the highest setting and only let it run for about 30 seconds.

Afterwards, turn the Blender off and let the ice sit in there for another 30 seconds. Then open your lid and remove the ice cubes. Your results are going to vary depending on how thick your cubes are!

How do you blend drinks smoothly?

To blend drinks smoothly, try putting the liquid into your blender, filling it up to 50% full. After that, add in a little bit of ice and then fill the rest of the blender with the rest of your ingredients. Blend it without the lid on for about 1-2 seconds and then put on top. Use your pulse button if you want to get a nice “slushy” consistency.

How do you make blended smoothies?

It’s very simple to make Blended smoothies using this trick: place all of your ingredients into a tall glass jar or something similar and then blend them for about 20-30 seconds (or until smooth). It’s a lot easier to blend a lot of ingredients at once rather than in small batches.

How do you make smoothies without using ice?

If you want to make drinks without using ice, try blending the ingredients together before adding ice. I like to fill my Blender up about half way with some of the ingredients and then add some ice afterwards if needed. You can also put the ingredients into a tall jar and then freeze them for about 2-3 hours! After that, simply blend the ingredients for about 20 seconds or so for an iced drink (or more).
