Can You Put Aluminum Foil in Air Fryer?

Some people are trying to prove that aluminum foil in an air fryer can be dangerous, but is this true?

Air Fryers are becoming more and more popular among Americans, with some even getting rid of their ovens. Some people have taken to Facebook saying aluminum foil in the air fryer can be dangerous due to it clogging up the mechanism or causing a fire. Is this true?

We put aluminum foil in our air fryers all the time without any problems. The idea that putting metal into an air fryer could cause it to malfunction is not logical – there are countless other metals that can be used in these machines without worrying about clogging them up or starting a fire.

The only thing that could harm your air fryer is overheating, which will cause it might release toxic fumes. However, if you monitor the temperature and make sure it does not reach the overheating point you should be fine. Remember to read your manual before trying any new foods in your air fryer!

I found a recipe in which it told us to wrap the chicken in foil before putting it into the air fryer. That’s good, but i don’t have a dishwasher, so i wanted an alternative solution using only paper towels and bowl from the kitchen. The result was amazing! Chicken was perfect! So easy and cheap. You can try using that kind if you want, but i haven’t heard of anyone having any issues with regular aluminum foil in there so you should be good to go!

I am not sure why Emeril Lagasse would say no to Parchment paper, but yes i have the same problem, the manual does say no parchment paper, however i have looked around online and can’t find why this would be a problem using parchment in an air fryer.

The only reason i can think of is to stay away from aluminum foil and other reflective materials. Parchment paper was invented to work specifically with air fryers and we do not recommend using the foil method.

If you want to cook anything that needs a crust or if you want to use a meat that you don’t want greasy then i suggest using parchment paper in Emeril Lagasse air fryer. If your food doesn’t need a crust then you should be able to use normal aluminum foil.

Air fryer foil packet meals?

I have been wanting to try more foil packet meals in my air fryer, but i am worried that the steam from the food will cause a problem.

I have used it before and i just made sure to put some space between the food so it didn’t burst.

So far so good for this method, but i want more ideas on using a foil packet method in an air fryer! I have done a few of these already and they’ve all been pretty good! I have more ideas on making these meals so send me your suggestions!
